Willem Vermeijden lost his daughter in 2012. He speaks about the reality of the loss and the reality of the recovery. Do you have to work again if you are still in mourning? Willem gives you honest advice in dealing with recovery and loss.
Loss and recovery
The reality of the loss and the recovery run together. The loss has an important place and you could alternate with the things that help you with recovery.
You need time to give the loss a place. For example, visiting a grave, collecting memories with others, or giving the loss a place in a creative way. But for the recovery you also need time. Work can help a lot, but those recovery activities should not prevent you from going through the loss. Mourning needs time.
